Like many non-profit membership organizations, SABANY operated a hand-coded website with an out-of-date design that reflected poorly on the organization. SABANY needed a professional-looking organizational site that would help attract new members and that its volunteers with little knowledge of HTML code, could update easily.

SABANY also felt its web presence was scattered around the Internet and lacked a cohesive branding strategy. MKmedia developed a web-wide branding strategy for the group incorporating Flickr, Constant Contact, Twitter, Facebook, Google Docs, Google Groups and eRSVP. The new Drupal site showcases the group's many events and activities. A members-only section features a members directory, job listings and forums.

WokWiz Chinatown Walking Tours

MKmedia built WokWiz's first website in 1998. In this second iteration of the site, there is more emphasis on branding Wok Wiz's vivacious founder and celebrity chef Shirley Fong-Torres. Her new book, "I Can't Believe I Ate My Way Through Chinatown" is prominently featured, as is her holiday specials.

Shirley posts regularly to her integrated Wordpress blog, highlighting her appearances cooking shows and judging gigs at culinary contests around the world. The website's custom design and bold graphics help to attract eyes to a range of walking tours, considered some of the best in San Francisco. Users can book tours using an online reservation system.

University of Montana School of Journalism

The UM School of Journalism wanted a hybrid website that addressed four distinct audiences - prospective students, enrolled students, alumni and the journalism community-at-large. The new Drupal website offers frequently updated news about the school, its faculty and its students.

The homepage captures the vibrancy of the school through the use of thumbnail photos, a calendar of events, a showcase of stellar student multimedia work. The site makes it easy for prospective students to learn about the school through from beautifully shot videos. The site also offers a directory of staff and faculty profiles, which are can be updated by the users.
